Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year officially begins on Saturday 25th January and ends on February 4th.

2020 is the year of the Rat, the Rat is the first of all of the zodiac animals.  According to one myth, the Jade Emperor said the order would be decided by the order in which they arrived to his party.  The Rat tricked the Ox into giving him a ride, as they arrived at the finish line, the Rat jumped down ahead of the Ox, coming first.

In Chinese culture, rats were seen as a sign of wealth and surplus.  Because of their reproduction rate, married couples also prayed to them for Children.

People born in the year of the Rat are optimistic and energetic and likeable by all.  They are sensitive to other's emotions but are stubborn with their opnion.

Rats' lucky flower is the Lily!
