Chelsea Flower Show

Chelsea Flower Show

Where is Chelsea Flower Show normally held?
The Chelsea Flower Show is a garden show held for five days
in May by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) in the grounds
of the Royal Hospital Chelsea in Chelsea, London.

What is the normal format of the show?
Held at Chelsea since 1912, it is the most famous flower and
landscape gardens show in the United Kingdom, and perhaps
in the world. The show is attended by members of the British
Royal Family and attracts visitors from all continents.
Highlights to the Chelsea Flower Show include the avant-garde
show gardens designed by leading names with Floral Marquee
at the centrepiece. The Show also features smaller gardens
such as the Artisan and Urban Gardens.

What is happening this year due to COVID-19?
Unfortunately the Chelsea Flower Show has been cancelled
this year; however, it’s still taking place virtually on the RHS

What was the Garden that Birmingham City Council won with in 2019?
Birmingham City Council has won Gold for the eighth year
running at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2019 for a display
recognising the need for action on climate change.
The garden focuses on four themes: air quality, water
conservation, reducing waste and community involvement. The
main colours used were red, yellow and violet; flowers
surrounded a metal sculpture in the centre of the garden.

What was the most popular flower purchased in 2019?

Roses are among the most popular garden plants and are a
favourite with visitors to Chelsea.  David-Austin Roses are breeders of English roses, specialist growers of old, shrub, species, climbing and modern roses.
